Sharing the gifts of grace
Confirmation is an exciting time in church life when people who have been instructed in the love of God confess their faith.
For more than 15 years, my husband has conducted a confirmation class. Part of it is creating and producing a stole for themselves that conveys what they believe. It is a white stole that the students with material and felt artistically present their faith.
This is theirs to keep and display to remind them of their beliefs. On confirmation day, they stand in front of the congregation and use what they have created to tell their faith story. It is so wonderful and inspiring.
God has given us our children to share his love, grace and forgiveness with them. At each of their baptisms, we said we would bring them up in their faith and teach them the foundations of God’s grace. In a world leaning further and further away from God, it is ever more urgent that we remain faithful to our promises to God and share his promises with all who will hear.
Lutheran Tract Mission (LTM) has many resources to help you share God’s gifts of love and grace with your family and those around you.
Be bold in God’s promises – share them!
Go to the LTM website at www.ltm.org.au and search for holy communion and baptism.
‘But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the benefit you reap leads to holiness, and the result is eternal life. For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord’ (Romans 6:22,23).
