Liturgical Colour: Violet
Today is Ash Wednesday, the beginning of the forty days of Lent. Today your congregation may choose to have the traditional imposition of ashes. All are invited to participate. The minister/assistant makes the sign of the cross on the forehead of each person with ashes, saying ‘remember that you are dust, and that to dust you shall return’.
