Strengthening connections at the Loxton alliance meeting
The recent Alliance Meeting in Loxton proved to be an inspiring and productive gathering, bringing together industry leaders to share insights, challenges, and future plans. Held amidst the charming surroundings of Loxton, the event was made even more special thanks to the warm hospitality of Nicolle, her new General Services Manager, Jan Hogan, and their new People and Culture Manager, Jessica. Together, they ensured the group felt welcomed and had the opportunity to explore the beautiful region.
Adding to the camaraderie, Nicolle invited everyone to her home on Friday night for a BBQ over coals. The evening was a delightful blend of good food and great company. After playing basketball the night before, Nicolle impressed the group with her culinary skills, whipping up a delicious pavlova and cheesecake to end the evening on a sweet note.
The meeting itself provided an excellent platform for Alliance members to network, fostering deeper connections and collaborative discussions. A highlight of the gathering was a presentation on Riverview’s Master Plan, offering valuable insights into their future development initiatives.
Members also commenced consultation for the 2025 two-day Alliance Meeting, scheduled for February 27th and 28th in Adelaide. This event will aim to bring together Retirement Living Representatives from a national perspective within our community, broadening the scope of discussions and enhancing collaborative opportunities across the sector.
Throughout the Loxton meeting, members openly shared the struggles the industry is facing, from staffing shortages to the complexities of regulatory requirements. This exchange of experiences underscored the importance of the Alliance as a collective voice and support network in navigating these challenges together.
The Loxton meeting not only strengthened professional bonds but also highlighted the resilience and innovation within the sector. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Nicolle, Jan, and Jessica for their efforts in hosting such a successful and enriching event.
