With one in five Brazilians affected by obesity, Brazil is counting down to October 2022 when the new nutritional labeling standard packaged foods will be implemented in the country.
In advance of this milestone, the Brazilian Institute for Consumer Protection (IDEC) and the global health organization, Vital Strategies, are releasing a case study on the communication campaign that led to one of the most successful public comments in history to serve as a model for other countries aiming to gain public support of front of package labels.
