Online Worship and Ministry Guidelines

LCANZ Online Worship and Ministry Guidelines have been prepared to support congregations and church agencies who are engaged in or considering livestreaming and other online ministry activities.

The guidelines replace the former Livestreaming Tips and Advice documents, which were written during COVID. The guidelines have been produced in collaboration with LCA Communications and Professional Standards.

Lectionary Calendars for Year B 2023-2024 and Year C 2024-2025 now available

The lectionary calendars for Year B 2023-2024 and for Year C 2024-2025 have now been uploaded. These planning calendars include the dates and readings for each Sunday of the church year, along with the details of all festivals. Many thanks to GROW Ministries for their assistance.

The Committee for Care Ministries has released a perpetual yearly planner showing Sundays which are especially appropriate for congregations wishing to celebrate Christian Care Sunday, as well as other events celebrating those who serve our community and highlighting the needs of the vulnerable in our communities and around the world.

The Elements of Worship Video Series

The Commission on Worship has created a series of short videos with accompanying fact sheets as a guide to the key elements of worship. They have been prepared with a service preparation focus, but could easily be used in wider teaching. Why we do the things we do in our Lutheran worship

Grow Ministries and the Commission on Worship have produced an excellent booklet explaining Lutheran Worship.

In clear, simple language, each part of the worship service is explained, along with passages from scripture showing the Biblical basis for what we do. Perfect for family discussions, Confirmation classes and for every member of our congregations wanting to understand why we do what we do in worship. The GROW team have also produced a number of extra resources to support this resource.

You can access “Why We Do What We Do In Lutheran Worship” from the GROW website for a low, one-off fee. You will then have permission to print it out or photocopy it for your parish as often as you need. To download this resource, click here.
